What is published under lowercase letters
26 of the twenty-six lowercase letters have a sheet: a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y and z. That is the whole alphabet, and it was written in stroke-family order rather than A to Z.
The published sheets touch five of the five stroke families: family 1 (i, t, u, w), family 2 (e, l, h, f, k, b), family 3 (a, c, d, o, g, q), family 4 (n, m, v, x, y, z) and family 5 (r, s, j, p). Letters are grouped by the movement that starts them, which is why b sits with the loop letters and not with a — a child who has the movement can usually get the next letter in the same family in a fraction of the time.
Where this fits in the sequence
Cursive is taught in stroke families rather than alphabetical order, and lowercase letters sits at a particular point in that run: the undercurve letters (i, t, u, w) come first, then the loop family (e, l, h, f, k, b), the oval family (a, c, d, o, g, q), the slant letters (n, m, v, x, y, z) and finally the mixed strokes (r, s, j, p).
